About
Join Megan Grandinetti for a special Mother's Day weekend Yin Yoga class, to take 90 minutes for yourself to slow down, rest in your body, and rest in yourself. All genders, all bodies welcome--come if you are a mother or if you have a mother you'd like to celebrate. Yin Yoga is an amazing tool for slowing down the body. To feel the benefits of movement with less trying, less exertion. To feel our bones and connective tissue not just as the things that hold us together, but as the elements that keep our bodies stable and grounded. It brings suppleness & fluidity to the body by targeting the joints, fascia, and connective tissue to allow for deep release. Yin asks us to move INward. Toward ourselves, toward a deeper knowing of our bodies, beyond a superficial understanding. We hold poses for longer periods (2-5 minutes), allowing time and gravity to do the work instead of trying to accomplish great feats with our muscles. We find our appropriate edge in the pose where our body can hold without much effort and with perhaps some discomfort but no sharp pain. And we find stillness in the body, and through stillness in the body, find the stillness that we naturally are.
