About
Do you want to add a new dimension to your Yoga practice? Do you want to enjoy a couple of hours of playful fun and exploration? Do you want to get comfortable being on your hands? Then this is the workshop for you. Arm balances are way more accessible than they look; you don’t need to be super-strong to get into an arm balance, it’s just about exploring the techniques and finding that sweet spot where you can balance. During this two-hour workshop, with the encouraging guidance of Rachel, you'lll be looking at all the components that go into achieving arm balances. From bandhas, to gazing points and finding your sweet spot to enable you to take flight! Following a full warm up of the body, she'll show you detailed breakdown of a pose so you understand exactly what is required before you play around and practice. There are so many benefits too! ~ Helps to build strength in your upper body and deep core stabilising muscles ~ Develops focus, willpower, confidence and resolve ~ Helps you to overcome fears by facing them head on. We will look at ways you can build strength and flexibility to help achieve the asanas and how we can use props to help you balance. Looking at your everyday practice and how you can build essential strength and stability with a few tweaks as well as the fundamental asanas which will help you get there with the right technique. This is your chance to take part in a playful afternoon - we don't do enough of that as adults - with one to one instruction and guidance to help you to see where you are at in your practice. Helping you to achieve the foundations of arm balances such as: Eight-Angle, Flying Pigeon, Eka Pada Koundinyasa 1 and 2, and Crow. We will also have a go at breaking down Crow (Kakasana) and Eka Pada Koundinyasa 1 to understand the specific mechanics of the pose and have a chance to have a go at both of the arm balances with guidance, support and hands on adjustments. Finally, we will look at incorporating arm balances into your flow and into a regular class and ways you can add on transitions, such as jump backs from crow, to flow seamlessly between asanas. Suitable for all those with a regular Yoga practice and most importantly, an open mind. :) CANCELLATIONS & LATE ATTENDANCE: If you need to cancel your class for any reason, specialist workshops and courses carry a separate cancellation policy (see below.)
