About the Course Ready to get moving, feel better, and enjoy the fresh air? Join us for a friendly and supportive Couch to 5K Nordic walking course – perfect for beginners, those returning from injury, or anyone who just prefers a very gentle session. Over 6 weeks, you’ll learn the technique of Nordic walking – a fun and effective full-body workout using specially designed poles. It’s kind on your joints and can burn up to 20% more calories than regular walking! Each session includes: A gentle warm-up Step-by-step Nordic walking technique coaching A progressively longer walk through beautiful nature We’ll gradually build your stamina and confidence, helping you work towards your personal goal – whether that’s a full 5K or less - this is all about reaching the goal that is right for YOU. You’ll also have access to optional “homework” walks to keep up your momentum between sessions. What’s included: Use of Nordic walking poles (a £50 refundable deposit if you’d like to borrow them between sessions) Expert guidance in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere A chance to connect with like-minded people Optional coffee at Heartwork café in Knowle Park after each session At the end of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to join our friendly walking group, Surrey Striders, which offers weekly walks of varying levels across the stunning Surrey Hills and beyond.
